Short Film / Documentary Collaboration

Domestic Abuse
Documentary

Over the past year I've been working on a collaboration with a film postgraduate from Norwich University of the Arts, on a short documentary based around the theme of domestic abuse.

We're currently working with individuals to help them have their say and speak freely and confidently about their experiences, we're also working closely with a number of organisations and charities that support domestic abuse victims.

The lack of funding that these organisations have received in recent years has made it increasingly harder for them to keep thriving and offering support, and it's this political standpoint that the documentary will use to depict these stories.

This documentary is heavily film based which is challenging me on a new level of medium, working with new equipment and methods when recording and filming. It's also challenging and developing my communicational, organisational and professionalism working with the organisations and those who work within them, arranging the days for shooting and equipment hire. We also have to conduct a number of release forms, to ensure we cover ourselves when filming and getting the permission of the organisations to use the footage we get.

We're also currently working on a new social media platform for this documentary to share little teaser clips along our journey as we film this with the greatest of discretion.
